Thursday, July 20, 2017

This movie was in big controversy with Central Board of Film Registeration (CBFC), but finally movie got released and found a way to Indian theaters and now it's our work to watch it and make it stay for a while, it's  run time is of 1hour and 48 minutes. It's absolutely worth your time and money.
Director-Alankrita Srivastava
Cast-Ratna Pathak, Konkona Sen Sharma, Aahana Kumra, Plabita Borthakur, Sushant Singh, Vikrant Massey.

It's a story of four women's and their dreams. All these four ladies live in the same Colony.

1- Usha(Ratna Pathak) :She is a 55 years old widow lady and a buaji of the Colony. She reads Hindi erotica books and she has phone sex with young boy. She enjoys reading soft porn books which is hidden in her religious books.

2-Shireen(Konkona Sen) :She is a housewife who is also a sales girl but her husband (Sushant) is not aware of that.

3-leela(Aahana Kumra) :She is an ambitious beautician and has a Muslim photographer boyfriend (Arshad).,unknown to her fond fiance or her widowed and financially desperate mother (Sonal Jha).

4-Rehana(Plabita Borthakur) :She wears a burkha as her parents force her to wear because they are too much orthodox and she leads a double life. As soon as she enters the college she removes her burkha and turns into a singer. She is struggling to find her voice, literally and metaphorically.

All these four womens have really done justice to their role. Each and every character this film deals with different kinds of prejudices and restrictions but at last they all curbing the freedom of women. It's about womens desire as well as their rights, let women open up about their dreams. Lots of issues are raised in these movie from dictates on womens clothing to forced sex in a marriage. It's a bold movie because it draws attention to women's desire and problems. Lots of issues that need attention are raised in this movie. must say a great work done by producer Prakash Jha, director Alankrita Srivastava, and the entire cast and crew.

Rating: 3.5/5.
